1. When installing the sealing winding gasket that matches the protruding plane flange, attention should be paid to ensuring that the seal and the pipeline are concentric, and the outer reinforcement ring is generally used to contact the inner circumferential surface of the bolt to position, and eccentric installation is not allowed. When installing the basic winding gasket in the tongue and groove surface sealing face flange, care should be taken to maintain the gap consistent with the groove wall surface.
2. When installing a metal coated gasket with a narrow width, a certain thickness of steel plate should be placed on the outside of the gasket, and then the flange should be pressed to avoid the interface (or lap) of the metal shell being expanded after the metal gasket is pressed, and the metal coated gasket is damaged.
3. When the working temperature of the flange is higher than 200 °C, a sealant should be coated between the flange sealing surface and the sealing gasket to prevent the sealing gasket and the flange sealing surface from sintering at high temperature, which will add trouble to the maintenance and replacement of the sealing gasket.
4. When the sealing surface is uneven, the sealing gasket can be installed after applying sealant on the sealing surface. The sealant is generally composed of manganese dioxide, lead dan, graphite powder and post-boiled linseed oil (dry oil). The corresponding type and grade of liquid sealant can be selected according to the conditions of sealing medium, working temperature and medium pressure.
5. For the installation of octagonal metal ring gasket, when the metal ring gasket and flange sealing groove processing is not ideal, it can be matched to achieve a tight fit. For large diameter metal ring gaskets, it is difficult to prepare, and sealants can be used to fill the small unevenness of the metal surface.
